At Madison Taylor Design, we specialize in high-end architectural and interior design. Today we are bringing you behind the scenes for the reveal of our new studio office interior.

Our team is growing, and it is now time for our office to grow along with it! While we continue to design our new headquarters, this studio will serve as a temporary space for our furniture team to collaborate.

COVID has caused a number of delays in the design for this studio space, but each of the brands we partnered with and teams we worked with along the way have been there to support us in pulling this design project together and we are thrilled with the overall results.

General Finishes:

Neue Floors provided these beautiful cappuccino-coloured hardwood floors. The cabinets were provided by Absolute Cabinets, a company that we’re happy to say we’ve been working with for over 10 years. They really understand our preferred level of detail and the quality that we look for, so the opportunity to incorporate their product in this project was amazing. We thought it would be fun to be a bit more playful with the design for the stairs. I found a picture of a cool plaid carpet that sort of pulled all the colours together from the Ciot tile (links to this fun tile combination will be listed below). I sent it to our rep at Irvine Carpet and she was able to find that spec almost immediately. We were very excited! It really adds a nice focal point upon entering the space. We’ve incorporated 2 different sizes of Metrie Primed White Shiplap on the walls and ceiling for added texture and dimension throughout the studio.  Our vision for this space was to keep things light and bright, so choosing paint colour was a no-brainer! We knew we had to go with one of our favourite Sherwin-Williams colours, Pure White SW 7005.

The Kitchen:

In our furniture office kitchen space, we have a beautiful Thompson Traders sink. It has this amazing hammered metal finish, which really brings a “wow” factor to the area. This beautiful brass kitchen faucet is provided by Brizo and creates such a lovely contrast against the sink. Emtek supplied the door handles throughout the space. The hammered detailing ties into the sink, while the polished chrome finish adds a nice contrast against the other metals used. Dekton supplied all the countertops for the space. We are going to be working on these surfaces, so it is imperative that they can withstand that constant contact. For that reason, we have utilized a new porcelain countertop finish which is highly durable. We have partnered with TilesInspired for the kitchen backsplash. This gorgeous 4’x4′ glazed tile adds the perfect amount of character, while still providing a clean and simple backdrop. Our appliances are all from GE Café. We now have our fridge and dishwasher and love them both. We can’t wait to see the stove installed once it arrives!

In Conclusion:

When designing this space, there was a lot to consider. The classic and transitional style of this space means it can be used in a variety of ways, even after it is no longer functioning as a work space.  Overall, we are thrilled with the results and are so excited to finally reveal the interior of our studio office. Be sure to keep an eye out for updates on the expansion of our headquarters on our blog page in the near future. We can’t wait to take you along on this journey with us!
