Our In the Making series offers a behind-the-scenes look at projects as they move from early vision through construction and toward completion; capturing the strategy, coordination, and craftsmanship that shape them along the way.

In this full episode, we revisit the Uxbridge Ranch Estate; a large-scale residential and equestrian property set on a rolling, south-facing site designed to integrate a ranch-style home, a 13,000 sq ft equestrian barn, paddocks, guest accommodations, and landscape into one cohesive environment.

From the outset, this project required comprehensive master planning. Building placement, circulation, view corridors, and the relationship between the residence and outbuildings were carefully studied to ensure the property functioned as a connected system. While acreage can feel expansive at first glance, the realities of equestrian infrastructure, sightlines, and privacy quickly introduce complexity; reinforcing the importance of early, integrated coordination.

The home itself balances generous entertaining with private retreat. One wing anchors an entertainment and wellness zone, complete with an indoor pool, fitness space, sauna and steam areas, and a lounge featuring a see-through fireplace and custom bar overlooking the water. A dramatic 25-foot light fixture descends from the stair tower, while a sunken great room with a feature ceiling and integrated seating establishes a grounded, architectural focal point, including a crane-installed granite coffee table engineered specifically for the space.

Across the home, living areas are oriented to overlook paddocks and barn structures, reinforcing visual connection to daily equestrian activity. Guest suites and a separate guest house allow for multi-generational stays without compromising privacy or flow.

Interior design, architecture, landscape, and construction management were led in tandem, ensuring that zoning, millwork alignment, glazing placement, and site relationships were resolved holistically rather than sequentially. Dedicated on-site supervision and in-house coordination supported execution across an 18-to-24-month timeline, preserving design intent as the project moved toward completion.

This episode highlights how integrated design and build leadership enables complex, multi-structure estates to unfold with clarity ; balancing land, lifestyle, and long-term function in equal measure.

Our In the Making series offers a behind-the-scenes look at projects as they move from early vision through construction and toward completion; capturing the strategy, coordination, and craftsmanship that shape them along the way.
